Rathcore GC was the destination last Saturday 23rd June for the societies 5th outing of the year with 27 players making their way to Co. Meath. It was 2010 since the society last visited this tricky and challenging course, Just a shame the impressive club house is no  longer accessible and meant the facilities at the club where very limited which was a real shame.  Weather on the day was superb, the course’s many variations of holes and undulating greens  proved difficult for most with a relatively low average score, however an enormous and very credible 46 points from Chris Fahy saw him take honors on the day and deservedly so. Runner up on the day and Ladies section winner was Patricia Bohan with 37 points,  second in the Ladies category was Marion Fahy with 33 points. The Mens Low Category was won by Captain Maurice Cullen with 34 points followed by Padraic Mc shera’s 30 points to take 2nd spot in this section, The High Category was won by Shane Loftus with 34 Points. Front 9 was won by Steve Stead with Lorcan Harrison taking the Back 9.

A committee meeting took place on the following Thursday evening  to discuss the issue of  two different tee boxes being used on the day. A majority decision was made that prize results stay as is. Men’s Scores Null & void, No scores to count for GOY with no handicap amendment as a result and best 5 results now from 7 for GOY.
