Saturday 18th August 21 members made their way to Co. Westmeath to play the penultimate competition of the year at New Forest Golf Club on what turned out to be a nice afternoon with a bit of a breeze at times coming into play. For the 3rd time this year, Niall Loftus was overall winner with 38 points, now taking him to the top of the GOY leader board and with 1 outing to go things are looking good for Niall! Winner of the Low Category was Peter Burke with 35 points. The High Category was won by Kevin Daly narrowly beating Alan Carty’s 35 points on a count back. The ladies section was won by Patricia Bohan with 29 points with Mary lynch the Runner Up with 26 points. Front and Back 9‘s where won by Enda McNamara (20) and Enda Mc Gloin (17) respectively. The next outing is Captains Day which will be the last competitive out on this year’s calendar, this special event will take place on 15th September at Roscommon GC at 10.30am.
