Saturday 21st July the society traveled to Mullingar Golf Club, the beautiful parkland course designed by Open Champion James Braid and home of the Mullingar Scratch Cup previously won by Rory Mc Ilroy, Padraig Harrington, Darren Clarke Paul Mc Ginley & Shane Lowry. The weather was perfect for the 6th outing of the year on what is a brilliant course which was in fantastic condition given the recent dry weather. Our Champion on the day was single figure handicapper Captain Maurice Cullen with 41 points just beating Ray Mc Namara’s equal score on a count back but for his efforts won the Mens High Category, Runner Up in this section was Chris Fahy with 39 points. The Low Category was won by Niall Loftus with 38 points. In the Ladies Section Breda Travers took first prize with 33 points and Patricia Bohan Runner Up with 28 points. Front and back 9’s where won by Dessy Doyle (18) and Martin McGowan (19).
(Due to the Summer School taking place the Presentation of prizes for the day has been put back until after the next outing and hence no smiley pictures yet! )
