Castle Dargen was the venue for the society’s 4th outing of the year following a few years’ absence. Twenty one members made the relatively short journey to Co. Sligo on what was forecast a dismal day weather wise,  which no doubt reflected on numbers on the day. Thankfully for those committed society competitors the rain bypassed most that afternoon, the weather conditions on the day being  a mixed bag.

Credit where credit’s due goes to the guys making a huge difference to the course at Castle Dargan It’s great to see what is a fabulous laid out golf course getting the ‘TLC’ it deserves, a fabulous improvement with lots of work on drainage.

Also Improving on Outing Wins was Liam Loftus who won his 4th outing trophy with 35 points narrowly beating 3 others following a countback.

The Men’s Low section was won by Captain Padraic Mc Sheera with Niall Loftus runner up on a count back with 35 points.

Congrats to Jimmy Egan for winning the High Category with 33 points.

The ladies category was again a very close fought contest with Patricia Bohan and Breda travers both scoring  30 points with Patricia taking the glory on a count back.

Front 9 winner was Aidan Mc Keon with 19 points and Kevin Cusack also with 19 Points winning the back 9.

The Matchplay Quarter Final Draw took place on Saturday 8th June In Monica’s which resulted in the following pairings. Lorcan Harrison vs Jimmy Egan. Ray Mc Namara vs Colm Griffin. Colm Loftus vs Cathal Mc Namara. Niall Loftus vs Patricia Bohan. Matches to be played before next outing at Strandhill on Sat 29thJune.
