Two of the ladies from our Society, Mary Lynch and Breda Travers, had a fantastic achievement in winning the All-Ireland Granard Cup for 2012. 88 teams, representing clubs all over Ireland, took part in the competition that took place in Hermitge Golf Club, Co. Dublin on Thursday August 22nd. Having already qualified earlier to represent Ballinamore Golf Club, the pair of ladies scored a total of 40 points on the demnding course. What made the win all the more remarkable was the fact that they scored just 15 points on the front nine, but had a barnstorming back nine of 25 points, to bring a rare All-Ireland title in any sport to Co. Leitrim. The two ladies are shown below, proudly holding the cup outside Ballinamore Golf Club.
