Our society’s 4th outing of 2022 saw 23 enthusiastic golf ball hitters travel the short journey to Strandhill, Co. Sligo. This great link course is one of our regular haunts and on the day, due to beautiful sunny weather and just a light breeze, it was playing as easy as it has ever done for one of our outings. As a result, higher than average scores were achieved by most players.
Huge congratulations go to Paddy Beirne, who was top of the pile as our Overall Outing Winner. Singularly, that is a great achievement by Paddy but in addition to that not only was it Paddy’s maiden society win but his tremendous score of 48 points was a record equalling one. All in all a half decent day’s golf for Mr Beirne to say the least. In the Men’s Low category this year’s captain, Niall Loftus, beat his predecessor Alan Loftus into second. In the Men’s High, the runner up was Vincent Mc Morrow. Patricia Bohan won the Ladies with Mary Lynch in second spot. Martin Raftery won the front nine prize while Declan Loftus was best of the bunch on the inwards nine.
