The society’s 7^th outing of the year took place on Saturday 24^th August at a very busy County Cavan golf club which was last visited by the group back in 2009. 22 members took the relatively short trip the mature parkland course to be challenged by the relatively short compact track and its sloping often hilly terrain, the tight tree lined fairways that along with the numerous two-tiered greens meant it would require a high level of concentration which proved difficult and a little frustrating for some with a lot of waiting around on each hole due to the fact the rescheduled Clubs Captains’ Day took place on the same day.

Jimmy Egan’s current good form earnt him his 3^rd overall winner’s trophy with 39 points. Captain Padraic Mac Sheera won the low category with 36 points with Ray McNamara runner up in the same category. Frank Mulvey won the High category with 36 points. The Ladies winner was Patricia Bohan with 30 points and Mary Lynch coming second. Front nine winner was Colm Loftus with 22 whilst the  back nine was won by Alan Loftus with 19.
