On Saturday 8th April and with the sun shining 29 members headed towards the seaside on the west coast. Enniscrone was the 3rd outing of the year and proved tricky enough for some, particularly those playing the course for the first time and getting to experience the many twists and turns along the way including the ball hungry towering dunes. (The Monster Carts would have definitely helped, if available!) The fabulous links and greens where in terrific shape with the setting in Co. Sligo simply stunning. Overall winner on the day and collecting his second winners trophy of 2017 was Enda McNamara scoring a huge 41 points which was a great achievement considering this was his first time hitting a little white ball at Enniscrone GC. Declan Loftus was runner up and winner of the Low Handicap section with 39 points with Maurice Cullen runner up in the low section with 38 points, another great result for the 7 society handicapper. Winner of the High Handicap section with 37 points was Steve Stead. Ladies section winner was Mary Lynch with 31 points with Kathleen Loftus as runner-up with 29 points. Front and back nine winners where Jason Loftus and Chris Fahy respectively.
We hope that everyone saw the funny side of the April Fools ‘Monster Cart Ad’ which was sent out on April 1st! We believe staff at the clubhouse (none of whom who have the name as circled below) received a few calls from our gang trying to make a booking!
Who called we don’t know?… and probably never will!
Joking apart now for the serious Stuff!
The standard scratches were as follows –
