The fifth outing of the year brought us to Castlebar Golf Club with a very good turnout of 30 golfers. Weather conditions were very good with no rain at all and just a very slight breeze, although the fast greens caused problems for some. Tommy Aherne made his first appearance of the year after his lengthy lay-off and made a spectacular return with a clear win shooting 40 points. Maureen Egan won the Ladies with Steve Stead taking the honours in the High Handicap, both scoring an excellent 36 points.

The average score of all completed rounds was 28.7 points. The outing was sponsored by Crumbs Sandwich Bar in Carrick-on-Shannon.
