Lovely weather once again greeted us as we made our way to Athlone Golf Club for outing number three of the year. Last year, Athlone was the venue for Captains Day and scores were low in general, and again scores were lower than an average outing.

Overall winner was Liam Loftus with 38 points, his second victory with AGGS. Martin McGowan won the Low Handicap section ahead of Tommy Aherne, with Peggy Lynch taking the honours in the Ladies section ahead of Dolores Mulvey. Arie Elberse came second in the Mens High section (Liam Loftus first). The average score for the 34 returned cards was 27.2 (identical to the last outing in Esker Hills).
