When our Society started in 1994 we only had one competition, Golfer of the Year. In the following year the Matchplay competition was added. These two remained the only competitions until 2006 when it was decided that a Past Captain’s would be included in the schedule. This has proved very popular and as each year passes, the numbers playing increases, and therefore more difficult to win!

In the following year 2007, it was decided to have a Ladies Golfer of the year competition, as the number of ladies participating in the Society had increased substantially over the years. A couple of years later in 2009 saw the introduction of the High Handicap Golfer of the Year competition, and finally in 2015 the Low Handicap Golfer of the Year was introduced.

This now means that there are six separate competitions to be played for annually, and when you add in the holiday abroad and the very popular mini-trip somewhere in Ireland, it all adds up to a very busy schedule!
