Our society travelled to Farnham Estate, Co. Cavan for our 7th outing of the year on Saturday 13thAugust. We were provided with a fabulous day of sunshine with the temperature as high as we have ever encountered, certainly on home soil. So after applying several layers of sun cream we were ready to do battle. A total of 23 golfers made the trip to hopefully take advantage of the favourable conditions. One of our former Captains, Maurice Cullen, even made a guest appearance on what is now his local course.
The overall Outing Winner was Vincent Mc Morrow with his 6th society win. Congrats Vincent on a great days work even if there were very few drinks or sandwiches sold from that shiny new buggy. The Men’s Low winner was Padraic Mac Shera with Jason Loftus just one point behind in 2nd place. In the Men’s High competition, Aidan Mc Keon was the best of the bunch behind Vincent. Breda Travers won the Ladies with Kathleen Loftus in runner up spot. Lorcan Harrison won the front nine honours while Kealan Loftus was best on the homeward stretch.
